VTNE® Annual Awards
- The VTNE® Award recognizes individuals who not only put in the hard work but also represent outstanding leadership and academic achievement.
- The VTNE® Celebrating Diversity Award recognizes individuals who foster, cultivate, and continuously preserve a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
VTNE® Award
The Veterinary Technician National Examination Award is presented by the veterinary technology/nursing program faculty, to one graduating student every year, and covers the cost of the VTNE® exam.
The award is given to one veterinary technician/nursing student in their final year, from each accredited program. Additionally, this student must be expected to graduate during the calendar year in which the award is given. Program faculty select the award recipient, choosing a student of their choice. - The recipient will receive a prepaid voucher for the Veterinary Technician National Exam. Program Directors must submit recipient information to the AAVSB before the recipient applies for the VTNE®.
- The school’s deadline for annual submission to the AAVSB is December 1. The AAVSB will accept submissions for the following year starting on January 1st of that year.
- There is no application for this award.

VTNE® Celebrating Diversity Award
The Veterinary Technician National Examination Celebrating Diversity Award is presented to one graduating veterinary technology/nursing minority student who has been traditionally underrepresented in the veterinary technician profession.
The committee selects the recipient based on their commitment to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and treating everyone with respect and dignity. We announce the recipient on May 1st, and they receive a VTNE® exam voucher for their application.
The application deadline is March 15th, and applicants must be enrolled in an accredited program when selected. Download the application, fill it out, and send it and supporting documents and videos to [email protected]
